The Fan Club

The Fan Club, our first street-only art exhibit, was born as a fundraising initiative following the mandatory closure of public entertainment spaces due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After nearly 6 months of lockdown, the message was simple: We miss the music. Let's fight for the spaces we love.

Partnering with the Chicago Independent Venue League, we selected eight quintessentially Chicago venues to spotlight and paired them with eight local artists to generate these visual love letters by way of poster design.

Through our social-distance friendly, wheat pasted exhibition of these works, merchandise sales and online calls to action—The Fan Club fundraiser successfully raised over $2,500 for CIVL's initiative to support these 8 local venues and many more close to our hearts.

Putting the “Public” in Public Works means accessible art that truly gets around town and makes a difference!
