About:

The U of I senior graphic design & industrial design 2026 student show, FIRE HORSE is a survey of the next generation of art & design, pushing back on the robots on the horizon and digging into the “humancraft” the world truly needs.

These graduating students are riding high atop the fiery steed, taking inspiration from the year of the Fire Horse that is 2026. This year of the zodiac only comes around once in 60 years, and according to Vogue: “In simple terms, think: rapid change, fresh opportunities, personal growth, and a faster pace of life.” In other words, FIRE HORSE.

Public Works is proud to sponsor the event, by donating our space and resources, and working with their designs, drawings and images to dream up the show poster, graphics for the apparel, and the theme of the show. All proceeds for the sale of merchandise will go toward funding the show. Buy a shirt and support the next generation.

@someoddpilot & @publicworksgallery founder @chriseichenseer is a 1996 alumn of the school. He can’t say enough good things about the art program. Ask him about it.
